This Vacation Home has 180 degree views of the entire length of the lake. (This is a Northern view from inside the home.) The home is situated 20 feet or less from waters edge! Long Pond is crystal clear and is approx. three miles long by a approx.a half a mile wide. There is a creek that runs through this property and into the lake.

Night crawler worms are plentiful near the lakes edge! There are over 18 species of edible fish, large and small mouth bass, yellow & white perch, blue gill sun fish, land-locked salmon, trout, bullhead catfish, pickeral, to name a few, along with several species of turtles, fresh water mussels, clams and freshwater eels.

Many a childhood memory have been made staying at "THE HARVEST HOUSE"

"I loved staying at the Harvest House with my grandparents from Germany. I showned grampa how to fish and he caught them all!!" ~ Allen from Florida. With a minimum of a week stay, you recieve free use of a one (1) seater Old Town Otter Kayak and a three (3) seater Old Town Canoe with all safety gear and regulation life vests!! (Otherwise, you may rent either on a per day stay basis.)

(The Bass Boat is available for RENTAL or SALE and rental is subject to availability.) There are two bedrooms on first floor and a loft area that sleeps up to four on the second floor. Also, there is a Futon sofa/sleeper on the first floor that sleeps 2 adults.

Berber style carpeting in all other rooms. The bathroom, features a vinyl floor, a bath tub - shower combo, a brand new full sized stacked washer and dryer. The bathroom also has a secure exterior door installed to enter and exit this vacation home for those of you who are swimming or fishing to access the bathroom without coming in through the main entry of this home.

"The exterior door that leads directly into the bathroom from the outdoors was a God-sent!! My wife wasn't complaining about our children and I coming in and out of our vacation home wet and fishey, made our vacation time go smoothly, no doubt!!" ~ Jim Henderson of Lake Wales, Florida. There are only 15 or so homes on Long Pond, in which most of them seasonal, and are all located on the Eastern side of the lake; as is this Vacation Home. The rest of Long Pond's shoreline remains in it's natural beauty.
(Wave runners and motor boats are permitted, however; since there is no public access, there are only a handfull of motorized vessels owned by residents on the lake that only operate on the western side shoreline to insure swimmers safety and peaceful relaxation.)
The majority of the lake use is fishing, swimming, kayaks and canoes. There are numerous creeks that lead to and from Long Pond that connect to 4 other lakes in Bucksport, but are only acessable by non-motorized vessels through shallow creeks and foot dams. - Built originally in 1996, the interior has been newly restored and fashioned in modern style and decor. It has been fully furnished, and has been set-up with most everything one could need or want while on vacation. There is a fully functional corner office area with Wi-Fi computer signal throughout this vacation home.
(Wi-Fi range outdoors is up to 25-50 feet of the home.)
Also included with this rental, is free local telephone phone calls. "Rubbermaid" (brand) bench storage/seating bolted to the dock for watching sunsets, early morning coffee, chatting or relaxing on dock.

"Mom spent most of her afternoons watching the sunset with dad on that bench, my brother and I were swimming accross the lake and jumping off of that huge granite rock. Deer are plentiful and friendly year around.

Numerous resident Eagles fish in this lake, they live and nest on a small island towards the middle of the south end of the lake that is in direct eye sight from this vacation home.

Located 10-15 minutes from this vacation home is Bucksport Harbor, seen here and viewed from the New Penobscot Narrows Bridge and Observatory across the Penobscot River and located next to Fort Knox in Prospect, Maine.
